Our Classes

Beginners classes are held in the evenings three times per week; Twice on Monday from 6.30 - 8.00 & 8.00 - 9.30 and on Wednesday, 6.30 - 8.00.

The next beginners courses are scheduled for Monday 8^th  September 2008 and Wednesday 10 ^th September 2008

Our next open night will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday 3^rd  September 2008 

The Syllabus page provides a description of what is taught at the beginners stage of Tai Chi Chuan.

Beginners classes are taught either as the introductory 8 week courses, where the foundation of the movements of the Form are taught, or as on-going beginners classes for members who have completed a course and stayed on to learn the rest of the Form.

 On completion of the course students are invited to continue to learn the remainder of the form over the next few months, as well as some applications of selected forms, and beginner level pushing hands. Students progress is reviewed at the halfway mark (from 54) and on completion of learning the Form which marks the end of the beginners syllabus. They may then progress to the intermediate level.

In addition to our classes we also regularly host Open Nights, usually in the wednesday evening class before the start of the next course. All are welcome to attend the open nights, where you will see a class in progress, be able to ask any questions you wish and to get first hand knowledge of what Tai Chi Chuan, and in particular Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan, is all about. This way you can see what and how we teach and decide whether or not you wish to join before making any commitment.

Fees

Eight week introductory course £50

(Except where special offers apply).

The fee includes annual membership and free insurance for 1^st year).

This entitles the member to 8 one and a half hour lessons over an eight week period.

Monthly Fee for continuing beginners £30

This entitles the member to attend any or all of the beginners classes in the month.

Monthly fee for beginners - concessions* £15

This entitles the member to attend any or all of the beginners classes in the month.

Monthly fee for Intermediate and Senior Students £45

This entitles the member to attend any or all of the classes for their level in the month.

Monthly fee for Intermediate and Senior Students (Concessions*) £30

Annual Membership £15 (includes insurance)

Single classes are available at £8 per session. This fee also applies to members of other Wu style academies visiting the Archway Academy for training.

Monthly fees should be paid in full and in advance. The fees are non refundable.

*Concessionary rate may be claimed by students and the un-waged upon suitable proof of status.
