This event is significant because it was the first public demonstration/workshop given by members of the Academy. It was held at the Huddleston center in Powell road Hackney in February 2004, barely a month after the Academy had opened. The occasion was informal and lasted several hours with many and varied activities provided for the people attending.

We provided various short Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong demonstrations and workshops for the adults and children attending the Hackney Family Backup (HFBU) consultation day.There were a number of different sessions held throughout the day as people came and went from the event.

The aim of the consultation day was to bring together the various parts of the HFBU organisation, children, carers,volunteers, parents and other family members and staff in a relaxed atmosphere conducive to mixing and talking and with things to do. We were proud to be able to be part of the day and contribute to the success of the HFBU event.
