Instructors at the Academy

All Instructors at the Academy

  • have been trained by the Red Cross in First Aid;
  • Have a minimum of three years teaching experience;
  • Have been registered and certified by the International Wu style Federation.
  • Are insured with World Wide Sports Insurance (UK) Ltd,  through Lloyds of London.

    Instructors registered as A Grade with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain are marked *.

    Chief Instructor

    *Don Spargo

    Don Takes the Senior Class on tuesdays (6:30 - 9:30 PM)
    and the Senior/Intermediate Class (thursday 6:30 - 9:30 PM)
    as well as the occasional Weekend special topic class.

     

    Senior Instructor

     

    Steve Wright

    Steve teaches the Monday evening early beginner class 6:30 - 8:00 pm, and the 8pm - 9:30pm, Push Hands class.

    Roy Constantine

    Roy takes the Wednesday evening (6:30 - 8:00 PM) beginner class.

     

    Susie Collins

    Susie teaches the monday evening beginners late class 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

    These are instructors who either teach regularly or occasionally at the Academy

     

    Grandmaster Wu Kwong Yu

    Grand Master Wu is Gatekeeper of the Wu's style, and the living authority on Wu's style Tai Chi Chuan. We are always pleased to welcome him to the Academy to teach members of this and other academies in his workshops.

     

    Peter Gravett

    Peter is a medical practitioner (Haematologist), now retired, who used acupuncture and traditional Chinese Medicine in his medical practise.
    He gives the occasional special class in Medical QiGong to senior members of the Academy.

    Jae Willis

    Jae has given workshops in 2009 & 2010 on moving step push hands, which were well received by all the members who attended. Jae runs the Somerset Training Centre.

    Eileen Ford-Price

    Eileen gave a workshop in 2009 entitled "Adjusting your Tai Chi for age and illness". Eileen and her husband Tim run the Cotswold'sWu's style training centre.

     

    Assistant Instructors

    We are pleased to welcome two new assistant instructors

    Richard Docksey


    Richard helps out with the teaching in the monday and/or wednesday beginners' classes.

    Warren is now working and living in Brussels.

    Peter Carey

    Peter used to teach the push hands class Mondays 8:00 - 9:30 for intermediates & seniors.

    He is currently living and working in Beijing.
